NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

Mr. Rogelio V. Amante is a native of Cebu City, Philippines. First son of the late Asclipio Baylosis Amante and survivor wife Consorcia Noyad Villarin both from the Province of Cebu, Philippines. Both clans belong to the middle class family. Roger was known to be an organizer because of his dreams to help alleviate the poor, the street children, the disadvantage and the victims of human rights violations.

On his journey from the age of 16 years old, he already encountered a lot of experiences that triggers his young mind to create a solution for these. Thus, he became a crusader of human rights victims.

He was a working student and finishes the prescribe curriculum from it. He work as an auto mechanic and a part-time driver of his own taxi cab until he became a member of Media Practitioners of Cebu City as a live current events field reporter of radio stations like DYRB, DYRE, DYCB, DYLA and DYFX.

He was so grateful having working with other media practitioners wherein the pouring of the rains and the shining of the hottest rays of the sun in a day make him to be stable, tough and tolerant to sacrifices.

This type of work make his stomach immune to his eating schedule that every bells rings he should eat, but the problem is, sometimes the bell never rings so he never eat! wahahahahaha ...... those were the most memorable moments that he challenge his ownself to escape poverty and chaos situations.

His crusade seems very hard to everyone until he decided to create his own family business known as RV Amante Enterprises, General Contractor and Services and recruit jobless workers. He happened to finish the Villa leyson structural works, the Waterfront Mactan Hotel-Waterfront Lahug and Shangrila phase 2 horizontal project as sub-contractor under John Holland General Construction Company, an Australia base company, that elevate his resources in order to pursue and comply his dreams.

Concurrently, he used to help the human rights victims engaging in some legal pleadings preparations, file cases in court and sometimes represent in court in behalf of the members of the Confederation of RICODE Community Association, Inc.

And this humble man, an Electrical Engineer by profession, one of the heirs of the late Bibiana Cabarrubias, is the Vice Chairman of the Confederation of RICODE Community Association, Inc. and also the newly elected City Councilor of Cebu city who started his office last June 30, 2007. He was fondly called "Bobby" but he is now the Honorable Roberto A. Cabarrubias, the chairman on the IT Committee of Cebu City Government Programs.

The Republic of the Philippines, compose of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, these classified Islands is full of so many tourist attraction, However, behind its beauty a hidden reality of Corruptions, Mismanagement created by some Government Officials whose interest were to let themselves boasted of POLITICAL power, money, selfishness without considering JUAN DELA CRUZ, who is suffering from his tremendous poverty, no land to own, mostly is uneducated, no shelters, at most 80% is One (1) day One (1) eat only, while the Government failed to undertake any precautionary measures for FILIPINOS NOW OVER POPULATED. The purpose why we decided to create the above-mentioned Organization is to address directly the needs to all affected Filipinos concerned. How about in your regions do you have the same situations as we had in the Philippines right now? If you will be in my shoes, what are you going to do?
